The Nyhavn canal district (colorful 17th century townhouses, excellent cafes and restaurants), Tivoli Gardens (the world’s second-oldest amusement park and one of the most beautiful urban parks in Europe), the National Museum, and the Danish design culture that has influenced every design school in the world since the 1950s.
Tallinn, Estonia
Tallinn’s Old Town is the best-preserved medieval city center in Northern Europe — city walls, towers, and Gothic merchant houses dating from the 13th century onward, all contained within the original fortifications on a hilltop above the Baltic. UNESCO World Heritage. Practically unchanged since the 15th century. One of the great port days in the VV European network.
