What Central Sea Terrace Means
The Central Sea Terrace is the standard Sea Terrace cabin placed specifically in the mid-ship zone. The interior cabin is identical to forward and aft Sea Terraces in size, layout, and amenities. What you’re paying for is position on the ship, and that position delivers three tangible benefits:
- Less motion: Mid-ship is the most stable position on any vessel. The center of the ship experiences the least pitch and roll in rough water. For anyone prone to motion sickness, or on an itinerary with potential for choppy seas, this matters.
- Better access: Mid-ship placement puts you closest to the ship’s central elevators, main restaurants, and primary entertainment venues. Shorter walks in both directions throughout the day.
- Peace of mind: First-time Virgin Voyages Sailors who aren’t sure how they’ll respond to the ship’s motion remove one variable by booking Central.
When Forward or Aft Works Better
Forward: Forward cabins offer bow-facing views and a sense of being at the leading edge of the ship. Some Sailors love this. The tradeoff is more motion at the bow, farther walks to aft venues (The Wake, The Dock, Gunbae), and some forward XL cabins have metal balconies without hammocks.
Aft: Aft Sea Terraces look out at the ship’s wake — a view many Sailors consider the most beautiful on the ship, particularly at sunset. The tradeoff is more vertical motion at the stern, farther walks to forward venues, and slightly more noise from engine vibration on some decks.
If the wake view matters deeply to you and you’re not motion-sensitive, an aft Sea Terrace is a legitimate choice. If you want the simplest, most comfortable experience with easiest access to everything, Central is correct.

Central Sea Terrace typically carries a modest premium over forward and aft placements. During promotional periods, this gap can compress significantly — sometimes to the point where the upgrade is essentially free. Check current pricing before assuming the premium is significant.
