Go in without one and you’ll pay more than you need to for a more crowded experience than you wanted.

The Pricing Tiers
Thermal Suite passes are sold in three configurations: Check out Thermal Suite: Mud Room, Salt Room, Sauna, Steam, and More on Virgin Voyages.
- Port day pass (approximately $59 per person, 3 hours): The best price available. Valid on days when the ship is docked at a port. Works best for Sailors who have already seen what they want at a particular port, or whose port day calls for a spa morning.
- Sea day pass (approximately $79 per person, 3 hours): The standard rate for days at sea. Still excellent value relative to comparable thermal suite experiences on land.
- Unlimited voyage pass: Available for purchase for the full length of the sailing. Price varies based on voyage length but delivers meaningful savings for Sailors who plan to visit three or more times. Ask the spa team on embarkation day for the current rate for your specific sailing.
Brilliant Lady note: Brilliant Lady Thermal Suite passes provide 2 hours rather than 3. Factor this into your planning on that ship.
Mega RockStar access: Unlimited complimentary daily Thermal Suite access for the duration of the voyage. If you’re in a Mega RockStar suite, this is one of the most tangible financial benefits of that tier.
Booking Process
Thermal Suite passes can only be booked onboard — there is no pre-cruise booking option. Head to the Redemption Spa reception on Deck 5 as soon as you board. You can view the sign-up sheet to see available slots and choose your preferred time. Embarkation day is the best time to lock in multiple sessions for the voyage, particularly for sea day mornings which fill fastest.
Is the Unlimited Pass Worth It?
The math: three port day passes for a couple = $354 total. Three sea day passes = $474. The unlimited voyage pass for a couple on a 7-night sailing typically costs less than the equivalent of daily sea day passes. If you plan to visit three or more times — which many Sailors do once they experience the Thermal Suite for the first time — the unlimited pass is likely the better financial choice.
The caveat: calculate based on your realistic usage, not your aspirational usage. Most Sailors who say they’ll go every day end up going three or four times. Plan conservatively.
Most treatments include complimentary access
When you book a massage, facial, or body treatment at Redemption Spa, most services include complimentary 3-hour Thermal Suite access bundled into the treatment. If you’re booking a treatment anyway, you’re already getting Thermal Suite time as part of that appointment. Factor this into your pass-buying calculations.
Insider Tips from Joel and Erin
- Buy port day passes whenever possible. The $20 per person savings adds up across multiple sessions. On a 7-night sailing with two port day visits for a couple, that’s $80 saved.
- Book the first slot of the day. Whoever arrives first in the morning gets the freshest rooms, the cleanest plunge pools, and the most peaceful environment. Early morning Thermal Suite visits are a different experience than afternoon ones.
- Ask about the unlimited pass rate on embarkation day. The spa team will quote you the rate for your specific voyage length. Run the math against your intended usage before committing.
