The Beach Club at Bimini is free for all VV Sailors — six bars, two pools, beach access, and full day use of the private island facility included in every fare. But for Sailors who want more — more shade, more privacy, more of the exclusive experience that the island can offer — a range of upgrades is available through Shore Things and the RockStar Retreat program. This guide covers every cabana and upgrade option and who they’re right for.
What’s Included Without Any Upgrade
Every Sailor gets full access to the Beach Club at no additional cost: the main pool, the beach, all six bars (Bar Tab applies to all), the food venues, beach lounge chairs (first-come on the sand), and the bonfire/late-departure events on Fire & Sunset Soirees sailings. The base experience is genuinely excellent and the majority of Sailors never book any upgrade.
Beach Cabanas
Private beachfront cabanas at the Bimini Beach Club provide: a shaded, furnished private space directly on the beach, premium lounge furniture, a dedicated attendant who handles drink service, and priority beach positioning that bypasses the morning chair scramble.

- Best for: Couples or small groups (2-4 people) who want a reliable shaded base on the beach without competing for chairs in the morning. Also ideal for Sailors who want significant sun protection but don’t want to retreat to the ship.
- Book through: VV Shore Things in the app. Cabana inventory is limited and popular — book before your sailing.
- Cost: Variable based on sailing and season. Payable with Sailor Loot.
Pool Cabanas
Pool-adjacent private spaces with the same premium furniture and dedicated attendant service as beach cabanas, but positioned around the main lagoon-style pool rather than on the beach. Better for Sailors who plan to spend significant time in the pool with easy access to the bar without the sun intensity of the beachfront positions.
RockStar Retreat
The Bimini RockStar Retreat is an exclusive area of the Beach Club reserved for RockStar and Mega RockStar suite guests — a private pool, butler service, premium amenities, and a separated-from-the-main-crowd atmosphere that reflects the suite experience ashore. Access is available to RockStar cabin guests through the VV Shore Things booking system. For suite guests, this is the right Bimini experience.
The Fire & Sunset Soirees Late Night Bonfire
On Fire & Sunset Soirees sailings (the 4-5 night Miami itineraries), the Bimini port day includes a late-night beach bonfire and fire art installation event — unique to this sailing. The Bimini departure on these itineraries is a midnight sailing with the bonfire event as the farewell. No upgrade required — this is included in the sailing experience. It is one of the most distinctive VV experiences in the entire network.
Insider Tips from Joel and Erin
- The base Bimini Beach Club experience is outstanding without upgrades. Do not feel obligated to book a cabana. The six included bars, the beach, and the pool are genuinely excellent. Cabanas make sense for travelers who specifically want guaranteed shade and premium service.
- Use Bar Tab aggressively at Bimini. On sailings where Bimini is the last port day (most Miami itineraries), your Bar Tab expires that evening. The Beach Club’s six bars are the ideal venue to maximize remaining credit.
- The bonfire on Fire & Sunset Soirees is non-negotiable. The late-night fire art installation on the Bimini beach is one of the most distinctive VV experiences available anywhere. Stay for it regardless of how early you need to be up the next day.
