Mixology Classes Onboard Virgin Voyages: How to Book and What to Expect

There are more than 20 bars on a Virgin Voyages ship, every single one of them included in your Bar Tab credit, and each one has been designed like its own destination. Walking from one to the next is genuinely part of the experience — there's even a tradition called the Grog Walk built around it. We're Joel and Erin, certified First Mates, and we have opinions about every bar on every Lady.
Sip Lounge is the champagne and caviar room. Moët by the glass, vintage flights, oysters, a tiny menu of caviar service. The dress code skews up here and so does the energy — this is where Sailors go to feel fancy before dinner.
Loose Cannon is the cheeky dive bar — wood-paneled, a guestbook that fills up with Sailor confessions over the voyage, divey beers and shots, and karaoke that gets unhinged after 11 PM. We love it.
The Manor is the nightclub and the heart of the ship after dark. It's a multi-level venue with proper DJs, a real dance floor, and it's the headquarters for Scarlet Night. If you only go to one bar at night, this is it.
Pink Agave's bar serves mezcal and tequila cocktails named after crimes — the Forgery, the Embezzlement, the Heist. The bartenders here are some of the best on the ship and will absolutely make you something off-menu if you describe what you like.
On The Rocks is the aged-spirit room with live music — bourbon flights, Japanese whisky, a piano or a small jazz combo most nights. Sip Lounge is for before dinner; On The Rocks is for after.
The Dock (the outdoor Mediterranean-vibe deck bar), The Pool Bar, Sun Club Cafe, Draught Haus (craft beer, including some onboard exclusives), The Roundabout (atrium bar with people-watching), and the lobby bars round out the lineup. Every restaurant also has its own bar program, so technically you can drink your way through dinner at six different counters in one night.
The Grog Walk is a Virgin Voyages tradition where you visit every bar on the ship over the course of your voyage, getting a stamp at each one, and at the end you're awarded a commemorative coin. It is exactly as ridiculous and exactly as fun as it sounds. Pace yourself — there are over 20 bars, and the goal is finishing the voyage as a functional human, not winning the night.
About Bar Tab: most fares come with $300 to $600 in Bar Tab credit per cabin, and that credit covers everything except super-premium spirits and bottle service. You can preload more Bar Tab before your voyage (often at a bonus — buy $300, get $400) which is the play if you're a steady drinker. Our move is to preload, then track usage in the Sailor app, then top up onboard if needed. The credit is per cabin, not per person, but it splits effortlessly with The Band.
