Virgin Voyages does entertainment differently. There's no big Broadway-style production show in a 1,500-seat theater every night. Instead, the entertainment is everywhere — pop-up performances in the atrium, immersive theatrical experiences in smaller venues, live music in seven or eight bars at once, and full-ship events like Scarlet Night that take over the whole boat. We're Joel and Erin, and after sailing every Lady we can tell you the entertainment is one of the things we miss most when we're back on land.

The Happenings Cast is the troupe of performers — singers, dancers, drag artists, aerialists, hosts — who run the entertainment program. By Day 3 of a 7-night voyage you will recognize most of them by face, and they'll recognize you. They host trivia, run dance parties, perform in late-night cabarets at venues like The Manor and the Red Room, and basically set the energy level for the whole ship.

Scarlet Night is the signature event of every voyage, and yes, you should participate fully. The dress code is all red — head to toe — and the whole ship dresses for it. The night culminates at The Manor where confetti cannons go off, the DJ takes the room to capacity, and the Sailors who committed to the red outfit get the best of it. Pack red. Even if you don't think you will. You will regret not packing red.

Live music runs across the ship all night. The Manor has DJs, On The Rocks has jazz and piano, the Red Room hosts cabaret and themed nights, the Roundabout has acoustic sets, and pop-ups happen all over the atrium. Scarlet Night — Everything You Need to Know

Scarlet Night is one designated night of each voyage (typically the second-to-last sea day, sometimes mid-voyage on longer sailings), and it is a full-ship costume party in the best way. Everyone wears red. The dress code ranges from "red t-shirt and shorts" to "head-to-toe sequined red gown with a feather boa" — both work. The night starts with a deck party at the pool with red drinks (Aperol spritzes, blood orange margaritas, the Scarlet Lady cocktail). Then everyone migrates to The Manor where the actual party hits around 10 PM and runs until 2 or 3 AM.

At the climax of the night, confetti cannons fire from the balconies, the lights go full red, and the DJ drops a track that lands hard. It is genuinely one of the best parties any cruise line throws and the photos are spectacular. Sailors with a sense of theatre come prepared — red lipstick, red sunglasses, red feather boas you can buy at Bimini Beach Club gift shop or onboard at the boutiques.
