Redemption Spa is one of the most genuinely impressive wellness experiences available on any cruise ship — and one of the most underutilized by first-time Sailors who don’t know what’s waiting for them on Deck 5. It is not a standard cruise ship spa with a couple of massage tables and a sauna that smells like chlorine. It is a full-service wellness sanctuary: a multi-room thermal suite, signature massages designed by the spa team, facials, acupuncture, body treatments, beauty services, and the first quartz bed at sea.
The name is intentional. Sailors leave Redemption Spa feeling redeemed from whatever they arrived carrying.
What’s Inside
Redemption Spa occupies Deck 5 on every Lady Ship and is organized into three distinct areas: the Thermal Suite (covered in its own article), the treatment rooms for massages, facials, and body services, and the beauty services area covering hair, nails, and Medi Spa treatments. The whole space is designed around the feeling of an underwater cave — immersive, dim, serene, and deliberately disconnected from the energy of the rest of the ship.
Upon arrival in the Thermal Suite, guests receive robes and slippers, guidance to towels and hydration options including sparkling, chilled, and fruit-infused water, and a complimentary portion of nutrient-rich mud for use in the mud room. The experience is curated from the moment you walk in.
The Treatment Menu
Redemption Spa’s treatment menu is organized around three pillars: massage therapy, facial and skin care, and specialty body treatments. Pricing reflects the quality and the at-sea premium:
- Salvation Swedish Massage: $179 for 50 min, $229 for 75 min, $349 for 100 min — a customizable Swedish-style treatment focused on tension relief and circulation.
- Atonement Deep Tissue Massage: $209 for 50 min, $249 for 75 min, $349 for 100 min — deep pressure targeting tight muscles and mobility.
- Awakening Bamboo Massage: $209 for 50 min, $249 for 75 min, $349 for 100 min — warm bamboo stalks used therapeutically across the body.
- Facials and skin treatments: Range from $125 to $250+ depending on treatment type and duration.
- Specialty body treatments: Including the Three Step Reclamation at $395, one of the most comprehensive body treatment experiences at sea.
No tipping required: Virgin Voyages eliminates the tip anxiety that mars spa experiences on many cruise lines. The price listed is the price you pay, nothing added.
Booking Strategy
Spa treatments can be pre-booked for select services. Booking windows open based on fare tier: 120 days for RockStar guests, 60 days for Premium, 45 days for Essential, and 15 days for Base and Lock-It-In fares. Popular treatments on sea days book out quickly. Embarkation day often offers a 15% discount on services booked and received that day — head to Redemption Spa immediately upon boarding to secure this.
Most spa treatments include complimentary 3-hour Thermal Suite access, effectively bundling a $49-$79 value into your treatment booking.
Payment
Spa treatments charge to your onboard account. Sailor Loot applies to all spa purchases — a meaningful benefit for Sailors who received promotional Sailor Loot with their booking. Bar Tab does not cover spa services.

- Book on embarkation day for the 15% discount. Head to Redemption Spa within the first hour of boarding. That discount is real money on a $229+ treatment.
- Schedule treatments in the late afternoon before dinner. A 3pm or 4pm massage followed by dinner at The Wake or Extra Virgin is one of the best evening sequences on any Virgin Voyages sailing.
- The Thermal Suite is nearly empty after 9pm. If you prefer a private, unhurried Thermal Suite experience, late evening visits are the insider move.
