The Space
The Red Room is located at the front of the ship on Deck 6, accessed through a long corridor past the Sip Lounge. The venue has auditorium-style seating at its most conventional, but that’s just one of its configurations. The space can be reconfigured to have two sides of seating facing each other, one side of seating with an expanded performance floor, or no fixed seating at all for standing-room events. The transformation happens between performances, usually invisible to audiences who only see the finished result.
The result is that a show requiring aerial performance and a show requiring intimate in-the-round staging can both happen in The Red Room and feel completely different in terms of audience experience.
The Shows
The Red Room hosts Virgin Voyages’s biggest theatrical productions, which rotate by ship and evolve over time. Productions that have run in The Red Room include Duel Reality (acrobatics and aerialists), UNTITLED Danceshowpartything (boundary-pushing dance), Persephone (Greek mythology meets circus arts), Ships in the Night, and newer productions like Up With A Twist and Murder in the Manor on Brilliant Lady. Shows are typically 45-60 minutes and are among the most frequently talked-about experiences on any Virgin Voyages sailing.
The Red Room also hosts Bingo with the Diva — a fan-favorite comedic event that has become a Virgin Voyages institution — and rotating pop-up programming from the Happenings Cast.
